Our GodRebel credo:
"We don't hate religion. Rather, we apply tests of reason to it."

God Rebels' Notice"--
This page is not "rebellious" truly, though it contains some original thought & pure conjecture around Spirit's laws and guides as from Prophets and faith. We already know the rebel side, and may we also know Higher Power as our ally whether we would read or skip this section!

Seeing with the Eye of Kindness
All of "Spirit's laws" or teachings show that dignity and choice can find a way to coexist with faith and even with religion, for those who wish it. I believe that from my studies as well as from my knowledge of the Higher Power as an expression of great love. It seems clear that our efforts to deal with sex and other trying issues, when we come from concern and caring, are met with loving kindness from the Higher Power. For those who still feel shorted, holding a cup that seems empty or half empty-- maybe if the glass is simply turned a bit, another view is seen with kindly paths to healing, love and freedom. The Bigger Picture overall is to see as Higher Power sees, with the great eye of Kindliness.

Guidelines from the Prophets-- Backstory & Possibilites

The Family-- Foundation for Society
The Prophets’ writings through the ages are to nurture all humanity. They teach us laws to guard our culture and our souls, to protect us, even from ourselves sometimes. These are meant as guides for when our actions can hurt others as in our conduct around sexuality. The family, a vital foundation for society beginning even before our emergence from the cave, relies on caring that includes sexual restraint and fidelity. Not many of the actual Prophets have endorsed variations on the standard theme of marriage between one man and one woman and even the more modern faiths* often say little more than that they neither “condone nor condemn” homosexuality.

Prophetic teachings around sexual expression can be hard to take or understand alongside social movements calling strongly out for dignity for both hetero- and homosexuals. Allowing one's own private life seems only fair and can even co-exist with many Spirit-teachings.
The Prophets' road was the most narrow of any time. IT wasn't mean, however, or harsh on them or us. I've come to wonder if such an awesome Being who comes from some amazing plane of great perfection could possibly have held up a standard that is less than the highest of humanity. If such an awesome Soul, it seems does not ask the very highest from us, what mortal on this earth will do so?

Feeling bad, shunted off or guilty when we don't match up to the great and sometimes super- human standards is not part of any Higher powered plan. It never, never was intended for us. Feeling shame can be a wake - up call for those who can let it go after making things as right as possible and then turning to a Higher- Power. But when that feeling lingers it is hurtful and destructive. None of us, I'm certain, is expected to hoe a perfect row in life, and those who match up on the outside often live with a different or hidden challenge.

As a rebel I have asked:
Are the Prophets mean or foolish, swayed by the superstitions of their times? My studies seem to show that they had amazing, super- human qualities and a Higher vision. Could their sanctions really be, as many claim, from a Voice of something Greater? If so, the guidelines they bring must have been designed not for harm or hurt but possibly to lead us to the best for us, and the best that we can be. The spiritual laws as given may even protect us from walking courses that lead to changes that could alter the course of a sensitive, vital balance in the larger culture that is based on long- standing arrangements founded on the family and kept in place throughout the ages.

Living with Faith, Sex, Kindliness & Doing it Your Way --

Most faith writings come direct from the Prophets & mostly have rules about sexual involvements outside of marriage. If you, like many, want no part of that, then if you just don’t flaunt it most faiths will leave that up to you, as something between you and God or Higher Power. If your mind is set on it, you can do things your way in or out of most any faith or spirit- way, or skip that part entirely. Again, the Bigger Picture overall is to see as Higher Power sees, with the great eye of Kindliness.
