Words and Truth in Scripture
The vessel of words is infinitely small next to the world of Spirit.
When words must serve as a vessel most deficient to express ideas of the Infinite, it is as trying to confine immense considerations into small, constricted spaces. Language can only touch a part of it, and the heart must attempt the rest. The seeker, then, must read with eyes of soul, open to a greater meaning.
Some of the terms applied to God in scripture's writings are meant to call forth a poetic, royal quality, to elevate the hearer and endure throughout the ages. Prophetic words, we're told by Prophets, to have rejuvenating power for those who open their hearts to them. But for modern rebels and would- be readers, such a glorified but cumbersome expression can bring irritation or distraction. Patience holds a key, for those who undertake the reading. Its a task, however, not taken often unless its end is known to bring rewards, that often are not seen until the journey has begun.

If YOU were something of a God, wanting your stories to be remembered for a millennium or more, a time so long that all known language would meet with heavy changes-- would you write your teachings down in the current slang?
Maybe you’d better choose classic tongue, even one with a sense of grandeur to match the nature of the day and of your great Destiny and stature. What language would you use to excite and inspire human hearts for centuries and ages through the vastness of all time?

Transformative Power
In the accounts of scribes, spiritual transformation is said to come to those who open to the holy verses, regardless of their mental standing. The limits of the words may stymie understanding, yet writings of the Spirit are rarely, if ever, understood in all their fullness. Still their effects on us are powerful. To relax and let the words flow through can help to understand far more than our own analyzing. We need not be over- anxious with shortfalls in our comprehension, for students of the scripture say that simply going to and taking in their soulful food works a magic in us.

Her colors lie beyond the sight, her song beyond the hearing.
Movements known and yet unknown lurk sly behind the veil
Now speaking fair and simple words that reach beyond the senses.
