Happiness shows forth in qualities of Spirit or godliness such as love, kindness and caring. It is in our nature to be happy and when we come from that, we naturally co-operate and give, whereas if we live in violation of that sharing nature we can never be truly happy.
Happiness is a virtue, and it can also help us to develop other spiritual qualities. All the holy Ones of history have urged us to be happy, and that happiness comes in large part from being connected to the truth of who we are. We are beings of love, reverence and higher understanding, qualities that bring us to what we may call spiritual or soulful.
