"YOU CAN KILL ME IF YOU LIKE.. but you cannot stop the emancipation of women!" That's what Tahirih said after she threw off her veil in 1848 Persia.
Here's more of that inspiring story.

In the end, they did put an end to this strong, amazing woman whose legacy continues. She lived at the convergence of two powerful faith teachings. So many wonders brought to earth started with amazing Masters such as she and the Ones who inspired her. She was battered, but it didn't stop her truth from flowing. For those who may reject the source of this great transformation, begun then and now continuing, I have no objection to that--it is the privilege of freedom!!

Do you believe, as the majority of religionists do–for example 2.1 billion Christians, 1.5 billion Muslims, 900 million Hindus, 394 million Buddhists and millions of other faith adherents—that God or Spirit created us in its image? (You might find it easier to believe if you think of the “image” of God not as physical but as spiritual, revolving around our souls and spirits, and of course our hearts–the throne of love.)
Such an openness of hearts propels us forward in our search for self and reality. “A new eye, a new ear, a new heart, and a new mind…” are the prerequisites in our search for our inner reality. Link to article

CONTEMPLATIVE PRACTICES include: Creative Practices, Relational Practices,Ritual/Cyclical Practices, Stillness Practices, Generative Practices, Movement Practices, Activist Practices, & more

Our practice is what we do each day. It can be our work, our prayer, our service, even our shopping, our spending or saving, our listening, social networking, t.v. watching and the like. It is good practice to look at what we're doing from a higher sort of view or overview, asking: What do I practice? Are my practices in balance with my spiritual and other needs and those of the world as well?

Meditation is about being in the now. You can meditate while you do anything, if you just take the time to really BE present with what you're doing.
But don't do it if you don't want to feel good!
