Faith can mean believing without seeing 'til more is yet revealed. We may need to get there with conjecture & thinking of the possible. Whatever answers may be had, if any are left to us to seek.

The Prophets' Guides--
Dignity, Support & Love ?
The Prophets’ writings support the nearly ever- present foundation of the family, as rooted in basic notions of sexual fidelity. In general, variations on the standard theme of marriage between one man and one woman are not entertained in long standing writings of a spiritual nature. Even the more modern faiths* may neither support, condone nor condemn homosexuality or other alterations in a social structure that’s upheld human needs through time. The Prophets spoke in kindliness, guides are given but i think they knew that they were hard for many. Never mean or pushy, human hands' enforcement later twisted things to pain.
Social movements of today help to bring back dignity to all regardless of sexuality or leanings. To me it seems that all can exist in peace, but we’ve got a ways to go. My studies and my understanding finds that our exertions regarding sex and sexuality, when they hold concern and caring are met with tender kindness from the Higher Power.

Marriage-- Not for Everyone
For those who cannot marry, a life of abstinence from sex is possible and even common in some population groups and circles of today.
Marriage is not for everyone and sadly not everyone, no matter how much they may wish for it, can attain or live within the marital state. They are denied that yet do manage to live productive lives. Sometimes that's just the breaks and can't be changed. Those who feel they cannot live a heterosexual life are also in that same situation if in fact they choose to live within the bounds of a faith that does not allow overtly for that expression. For them, faith teachings say there is compensation in the growth that comes with renunciation. Everyone on earth must face their own unique tests and trials through life, and the great among us say that it can make us strong when we turn to Spirit. Our challenges are gifts that profit us in life and the hereafter. priceless pearls that help in growth of virtue and personal development.

Issues of our Time--
Homosexuality
Some of these things make me wonder if the gay issue really will be so big as now in a future age. So much is going on today that was never recognized before and will likely change in time. The following conditions surely have affects on sexuality and choices made in family styles:
1. Drugs and hormones are now in water supplies like never before. These could surely be affecting or having impact on our sexuality.
2. Heterosexual relationships and marriage are fraught with challenges undreamed of yesterday, hopefully to be resolved sometime in the future. We're just now seeing the challenges of deep injustice, inequality and overblown restrictions around sex roles. Dysfunctional realities around intimacy, family and relations of all sorts abound, creating defections from the family and unusual configurations. If we can't find equality in heterosexuality then homosexuality begins to make more sense. When some of these resolve, this world will be a different place, and who on earth can possibly imagine quite what our personal connections, society or the future family might be.

Thinking of our Time--
DNA & Choices
Most of us, modern now in education, believe it seems, that there's no changing sexual orientation, that its tied up in the DNA. Scientific research now shows that actually we can change our DNA, and do it with regularity. Yet that doesn't seem to come up in the current of discussions. Surely that doesn't mean that its a choice for all, or easy, or that anyone and everyone can change their sexual orientation or even that it could be wanted. Just thinking that change may be more possible than we today are thinking, at least in some or maybe even many cases.
For those who choose to follow in a faith that does not allow for sex outside of traditional marriage bonds, yet can or will not abstain from sex or homosexuality, life still offers choices. If anyone gay or straight can see a way to live that involves sexual activity yet not the flaunting of it, that could be just fine in most of religions of today.

Possible Considerations--
A Time- Worn Balance?
The religious have said that when couple bonding follows time- worn boundaries a certain balance in society is created. When that condition becomes altered, could that balance be thrown off in ways that we don’t yet understand? Opening our culture to great departures from what’s been normal through the ages, its been said, may set ajar a “pandora’s box” of more imbalance, developments or consequences yet unforeseen, maybe unimaginable and as yet unheard of. If this sort of thing is true, and there are reasons why the balance does not cater to homosexuality, that doesn't mean dignity should be denied or that there's not a place for those who want to go their own way. That, it seems that gay marriage, for example, should be left up to secular forces to decide, as it is today.

More articles at our sister site, SpiritTop.com site look at what may be some of the possible concerns. Even that is but conjecture, and must fall short of what may happen. As these issues are still yet unknown, no one knows just what situations could arise.
